Rosalind Stockhall grew up in South Africa. From 1989 to 1992 she studied Fine Art, Graphic Design at the University of Stellenbosch. She worked for a number of years as a designer and then completed her post graduate degree in illustration at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003 (cum laude). She works with collage, etching and mixed media. She has won numerous prizes in illustration internationally and has exhibited her illustrations in Europe, Africa and Asia. She currently illustrates for South African publishers and exhibits her work to sell. She lives in the Western Cape with her husband and two young children.

Achievements in Illustration:

2000 - 2nd place and people’s prize for Carmen: Le rire des Sorcieres, Centre de Promotion du Livre de Jeunesse, Paris, France. Exhibited through Europe 2000 - 2001
2001 - 2nd place ‘Stories of City’ Children’s Book illustration competition, N. Teatrio Cultural Association, Venice, Italy. Exhibited through Europe and Africa 2001 - 2002
2003 - Runner up: ‘Round Red’ Children’s Book illustration competition, N. Teatrio Cultural Association, Venice, Italy. Exhibited through Europe and Africa 2003 - 2004
2003 - Bronze medallist: Book illustration competition, AACU Asia/Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO, Japan. Exhibited through Asia/Pacific 2003 - 2004.
