I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and matriculated from Camps Bay High School in 1991. I studied Fine Art at the Foundation School of Art in Observatory, Cape Town, and graduated in 1994 with a diploma majoring in illustration and animation.
I have been illustrating ever since and have always loved being involved in educational books, story workshops and the creative process.
I have recently returned to South Africa after living in the U.K for the last nine years.
I worked as a freelance illustrator and I also ran Creative Classes for children in Chelsea, London. Since my return I have been illustrating educational books and running my own art classes for children. I have worked on a season of “Takalani Sesame Street” for Triggerfish Animation where I was involved in storyboarding, set building, and prop-making. I have also done storyboards and illustrations for various advertising agencies.
I like to work in different media and experiment with new styles. It is really satisfying and exciting being part of the education process and I find this work very rewarding and fulfilling.
