My career path began in ad agencies from 1985 to 1990, after which I decided to indulge my love for computers and the new possibilities they offered, and formed my own company. Until 1997 I specialised in airbrush illustration, animation for interactive kiosks and other multimedia applications.

In 1998 I formed Fresh Inc with Warren Coetzer, combining our skills for NGOs involved in the education/development/HIV/AIDS sectors.

In Cape Town since 2000, I now illustrate for educational publishers, ad agencies and corporates. I still enjoy traditional drawing processes on paper, though I prefer the electronic route using a Cintique Tablet, with the speed, ease of interaction and creative expression this brings. Artwork and briefs fly back and forth via the Net and CDs - very useful, especially to a Cape Town client in 2004 who suddenly needed urgent changes to artwork while I was in London!

Comments I treasure: ‘You read a brief more deeply than any other artist’; ‘Your love for humanity is in every stroke.’

I do try to keep my work as interesting and creative as possible for my own entertainment as well as the end-users’ benefit.
