| Niki Daly is the winner of the Vivian
Wilkes Award for 2000 for his illustrations to Fly, Eagle, Fly! published
by Tafelberg Publishers.
Fly, Eagle, Fly! is a deeply moving adaptation of an African tale attributed to a Ghanaian, James Kwegyir Aggrey. The author, Christopher Gregorowski, dedicated the story to his dying daughter with the message that we are all born to be eagles; to soar and be lifted above our ordinary existence by the Spirit of God. Niki Daly has brilliantly captured this inspiring message in his full-colour pictures to this new edition. He dedicates his work to the children of South Africa in celebration of their personal flights of achievement. This beautiful work is the worthy recipient of the fifth Vivian Wilkes Award.
