Today, as the doors continue to open, Chinese literature has formed some new characteristics. First of all, we can easily find that the spirit of freedom and humanism has already been brought up. Secondly, there are great varieties of styles in search of a unique way to express the Chinese features. Thirdly, wherever the main theme is related to the friendship between Sino-foreign people, it is established more profoundly on the basis of the national pride.

Nowadays, both children and their authors are well aware of their responsibilities. The new generation is very different from the old ones. They respect themselves, they stand on their own and they constantly strive to be stronger. Chinese children will pour out more and more of the contents of their hearts by today's children literature. The biggest changes in recent year lie in the fact that many teenager writers have produced a lot of science fiction and novels which appeal to the new generation and are thus very popular. The circulation of each amounts to as much as several hundred thousand or even one million.
